Sore throat?

I've had a sore throat for the past three days and don't really know what's causing it >.< I recently returned home from Gatlinburg, TN and a couple days after I had a fever, a mild headache, and a sore throat. Now it's been three days and I still have a sore throat. It doesn't hurt to talk..only to swallow. It hurts to eat && drink but I have to do those things. I've been sucking on cough drops/popsicles and they seem to help for a little bit then the soreness returns. I don't have any spring/summer allergies that I know of and it can't be a sinus drainage because I can breathe(normally I can't with a drainage) and my head isn't congested. My neck isn't swollen so I doubt it's my lymph nodes o.o..Every morning it seems to be better, but then it's worse by evening..I'm not sure if I should go to my doctor because my uncle says it doesn't seem serious. Anyone have any suggestions?
